Alaire Dance Studio, Company
Alaire Dance Studio was established in 1997 by principals Alyce Arthur and Claire Travers. Alyce and Claire are fully qualified dance teachers with the Teachers of Australia Academy of Dance (TAAD). Both Claire and Alyce individually had over 10 years teaching experience prior to opening Alaire Dance Studio. They now each have over 20 years teaching practice.
When you come to Alaire Dance Studio you can be assured that you will receive qualified professional tuition. Our classes combine; warm-up, technique and skill building, examination work, choreography and performance training. Students generally participate in examinations once a year.
Alyce and Claire believe these provide students a focus for improvement and a sense of achievement. Our students mark and perform very well in examinations.
Alaire Dance Studio operates out of Lilydale Senior Citizens Hall in Lilydale, Victoria. Classes offered cover Creative Movement (for Pre-Kinder and Kinder age groups) Jazz Ballet, Contemporary, Theatrical/Cabaret, Tap, Hip Hop and Funk. Overall the focus at Alaire is on dancing for enjoyment. Its all about bringing the best out in their students by providing achievable yet challenging curriculum.
Alyce and Claire like to inspire, excite and foster the love of dance, they personally hold, in their students. Alaire Dance Studio’s annual concert (November) is something all students participate in, look forward to and really enjoy. The annual concert is performed for friends and family in a professional venue for the full theatrical experience. It is an opportunity for students to share their years achievements in dance and creates lasting memories to cherish.

Jazz is a combination of dance styles that come from the musical theatre arts. Also known as modern dance or jazz ballet, it is often used in musical theatre, commercials and music video clips. Jazz takes some technique from Classical Ballet.

Group: Courses of European Dances
Tap is a highly rhythmical dance style that focuses on the sound and rhythms that can be produced by the feet in tap shoes. Our students gain proficiency in co-ordination, musicality, rhythm and style.
Group: Courses of Sports Dance
Lyrical Jazz combines the styles of ballet, jazz and contemporary and is commonly set to popular music. Lyrical dance uses the lyrics of the music as inspiration to express emotion and gesture.
Group: Dancing lessons for children and adult
Jazz Ballet and Tap class at an advanced level. This class covers a range of styles. Students are encouraged to continue examinations to teacher qualifications.

This class builds on technique and skill. Examination work and concert preparation focus on strengthenin performance skill and dance technique in a range of styles.
Group: Dance Clubs
Students explore a range of styles in the three dances they prepare for the end of year concert. Students work through exam syllabus to strengthen and improve rhythm, strength, co-ordination and flexibility.

This class works to improve technique and skill. Examination work and concert preparation see students working through a variety of styles such as theatrical, contemporary and hip hop.

A fun class incorporating skill building in balance and co-ordination, along with singing, dancing and pretending. Two dances and a song are learnt for the end of year concert. An introductory exam is offered to those who are ready.
